Watch: What's up with Wattam?
Everyone loves Katamari Damacy, the puzzle/platforming (sorta) game where you roll up objects into a larger and larger ball of Stuff. Its creator, Keita Takahashi, has since worked on a number of increasingly strange games and interactive projects, like the MMO Glitch and the... well, whatever Noby Noby Boy is.
Now, Takahashi is back with his latest creation, Wattam. Developed with Funomena (Luna), Wattam showcases Takahashi's idiosyncratic art style and open-ended play philosophy. Players begin the game as a lonely mayor in a seemingly deserted field, only to find that simple objects (rocks, boulders, piles of poo, etc) are all living creatures who just want to be friends. How many games can you say where the core mechanic is holding hands?
Wattam releases later this year as a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
