Warhammer: Vermintide 2 All Tome and Grimoire Locations

Never get stuck looking for a book again with our handy guide.

Loot makes the Old World go ‘round in Warhammer: Vermintide 2 and few things guarantee better drops than lugging eldritch tomes and hobbling grimoires through each level. There are 65 of the buggers scattered through the game’s 13 levels, however, and that’s more than anyone should have to remember on their own. So we’ve compiled a guide to every hidden page in this, Zam’s complete guide to the loot-boosting collectibles.

Righteous Stand

Tome #1

Near the start of the mission you’ll come upon a ramping road, leading to an overturned wagon that must be climbed over. Hang a left at the burning wagon just before the barricade (if you climb over the overturned wagon, you’re out of luck, since it’s impossible to clambor back up). There’s a dead end to the left with a miraculously intact third wagon. Climb up this one and check the small crate inside—the tome should be easily visible.

Grimoire #1

This one comes just after the elevator ride that takes you out of the town’s arena. You’ll need to head through a door to the left of the elevator’s exit and into a sort of labyrinth of crates. Take the first left past the lynched corpse you need to pass under to progress the level. Then turn immediately left again to face the “wall” of boxes and chests. You can jump onto the right-hand side of the stack to stand onto of the maze. Turn around and look forward and to your right—there’s another wall built partly out of a wooden bed frame. You can jump onto it and follow the debris along the wall just a few feet to find the first grimoire.

Tome #2

You’ll find this tome in the gatehouse on the wall of the fortress. Once inside, you need to follow a wooden spiral staircase to a door that leads up to the next level of the keep. Instead of going through the door to the outside, however, turn around. There’s a wooden ramp that leads to another, slightly higher level of the gatehouse. Follow this to the end, where there’s a rectangular hole in the floor. Below is another wooden platform that you can jump down to, with the tome plainly visible from above.

Grimoire #2

Shortly after the previous tome, you’ll reach a second gatehouse on the walls of the fortress. It’s the one just past small crane holding barrels and an ammunition box. Go through the gatehouse door to the other side of the keep’s wall, but look immediately to your right as you do so. There’s a series of short, wooden planks sticking out of this side of the gatehouse that you can hop across one by one. Just after those is a mostly boarded up window built into the same wall that you need to hop onto and crouch through to enter a secret room. Cross it to a door flanked by a lever you must pull. This will lower a ladder hanging off some scaffolding to the right of the space outside the door. Jump out the door and grab onto the ladder in midair. Climb it to reveal the final grimoire.

Tome #3

This one’s easy. Once you come to the grassy cliffs, just before the final stage of the level, hug the left-hand wall. You’ll reach a row of bushes that are hard to see through, but if you keep pressing left you’ll eventually wind up in a hidden cave. The tome is in a box at the back.

Convocation of Decay

Tome #1

Near the start of the level you’ll enter a room full of empty bunk beds. The first tome is on the top bunk of the bed farthest back and to the left of the room as you enter.

Grimoire #1

This grimoire can be found just after you take the elevator down into Lower Maintenance Access—the room where you need to pull three levers to open three doors. First, keep pulling levels until you open the left-hand door (assuming you’re just coming out of the elevator). Head through this door and head down the first right turn. There’s a room with an overturned bookshelf. Climb up the bookshelf and hop your way across the other bookshelves flanking the walls. There’s a hidden button you can press on the shelf directly opposite the overturned one you started with. This opens up a path deeper down the left-hand door’s tunnel. Follow it to a hole in the masonry to a secret room with the grimoire inside.

Tome #2

The very beginning of the Garrison Sewers location forks down three paths. The one furthest left is an obvious dead end. Instead, follow the tunnel directly to its right. Keep hugging left down this path until you see a small altar with a lit candle. The next tome is in a box right next to the display.

Grimoire #2

At some point your team will need to fall down an open manhole into the Old City Cesspit. Standing under the manhole, turn to face directly forward—towards the door at the end of the Cesspit and the lit torches leading the way. Turn about 45 degrees right and walk towards the unlit portion of the room. On the floor, near the second pillar from the end of the room, is a ring of keys. Pick them up and proceed as normal until Montfort Deep Shelter.

In the first part of this room is a tall pile of stone and dirt leaning up against a corner wall. You can bunny hop your way up this pile and hop again onto a thin, brick outcropping. This will let you walk across a thin bridge to a tunnel through upper wall of the room that’s not normally visible. Follow this tunnel to a chained up chest and use the keys you picked up earlier to open it. The grimoire is inside.

Tome #3

This is another easy one. Keep going straight after you reach Carlomant’s Memorium. There’s a large tomb with clay urns and lit candles at the far end just as you enter the area. Walk all the way around the structure and look behind it to find the tome on a stone coffin.

Hunger in the Dark

Tome #1

In the location called The Backfill, walk parallel to the left of the wall made of wooden planks. At the back of this dimly lit part of the cave is a short turn. Hang left and then immediately take the first right to find a side path with the first tome at the end.

Grimoire #1

When you’re looking for the mine cart, just after walking through a short tunnel with shallow water, hang your first left. Hang another left at the forked path marked by a wooden wall built into the earth. Take the ladder immediately in front of you and this time hang a right across a tiny wooden bridge. At the end of the bridge’s path is a gunpowder barrel. Grab it and proceed down the right path of the earlier fork. There’s a glowing spot where you can place the barrel to destroy an otherwise impassible wall. With the wall gone, you can enter a secret chamber with a ladder. Follow the path up and the grimoire is on the far wall in front of you.

Tome #2

While transferring the explosives via mine cart in the dark, you’ll reach a zone called The Transfer. Follow the cart past the third wooden support beam and look to your left. There’s a crate that can be opened against the far wall of the room. The tome is inside.

Grimoire #2

Just after your party loses control of the mine cart and must find it again, you’ll hang a left into a cave called the Charnel Hollow. Just as you enter the cave mouth, look to the right. There’s a small tunnel leading upwards that you’ll need to crouch through to pass into. Follow the tunnel until it takes you up a ladder and turn around to see a seemingly featureless rocky outcropping. You can actually bunny hop halfway up this outcropping and skirt around its edge to a second, slightly lower outcropping on the other side. Turn around as soon as you reach this second platform. The second grimoire is in a small cave behind you.

Tome #3

The final tome is in a room called The Old Troll Grounds (marked by tons of stalagmites). Follow the length of the room until you reach a platform in the middle of the floor that looks like two wide steps of a staircase. There’s also a torch right in front of the platform. Hop up the “steps” and look left. There’s a fairly obvious, thin ramp of stone leading upwards. The tome is all the way at the end of it.

Halescourge

Tome #1

When you start to descend a set of crisscrossed stone stairs, just after getting the “find your way down the terraces” objective, you’ll reach a long stone walkway. To the right are the houses of von Mackensen Strasse, but to the left is a straight drop into an alleyway. At the far end of the alley (facing forward from where you came down the stairs) is a hole you can crouch through. Do so to find the tome inside a broken crate.

Tome #2

While searching for Burblespue Halescourge you’ll come to a section of standing wooden platforms you need to jump over to reach an area with a large, green banner hanging from a stone shack. Follow this side of the canal behind the shack up until you reach a large, stone awning. Instead of traveling under the awning, look left to see a second awning that leads down an alley. Follow this to a broken hand rail. Below, in the canal, is a rowboat you can jump down into to pick up the tome.

Grimoire #1

Continue the search for Burblespue until you reach the twisted cliff made from overturned buildings. Hop down to the level below the sideways house, which tilts in real-time as you approach the area, and turn to face the direction you came from. You can skirt around the outside edge of the cliff to enter a small study. The grimoire is on the bookshelf.

Tome #3

Keep traveling down the collapsing cliff until you reach a curve marked by a small watchtower. Head inside tower, climb up its ladder, and the tome will be on a bookshelf on the top floor.

Grimoire #2

You’ll eventually pass through a gateway with several lynched corpses hanging from above. Walk forward, towards the town square area, and look up when you see a thick banner strung between two buildings. On the left-hand building is a ladder that’s too high for you to reach. Shoot the green goop at the top of the ladder with a projectile weapon. This will cause the ladder to fall and allow you to climb up. The grimoire is at the top.

Athel Yenlui

Tome #1

From the starting point of the level, hug the right-hand wall of the area until you come across an overturned log. The log is hollow and walking through it will lead you to a hidden copse. Just keep walking forward until you reach a box containing the tome.

Grimoire #1

Facing toward the broken side of the box with the first tome, press deeper into the forest. You should almost immediately see a small cliff leading upwards to the right and with a lower section to the left. Follow the lower, left-hand section forward to a much smaller cliff (more of a step, really) marked by a large rock resting on a much smaller log. Push past this and hug left, where a rocky wall marks the edge of the level.

You’ll reach another large cliff with a much smoother angle that lets you walk up it like a ramp. The ramp levels off into another sort of copse with one large and one small boulder next to each other. Hop up the smaller rock to the larger one and you’ll see a tiny, leafy branch sticking from a tree. It doesn’t look like it, but you can jump onto this branch as well. Do so and look slightly to the right to see a small ledge with the grimoire. You can jump over to reach it.

Tome #2

Proceed through the level until you reach a Skaven cave marked with many red banners. Facing away from the cave, look forward and to the left. There’s a short ledge of forest ground marked by rocks at its edge. Hop up onto this level. The tome is in another wooden crate up here.

Grimoire #2

When you reach the ruined temple grounds, A.K.A. Athel Yenlui, keep right and proceed forward into the tall, ruined doorway in the first overgrown building you see. Hang the first left, but don’t go up the dirt ramp that lead farther up the structure. Keep to the right instead, going deeper into the overgrown alley, until you reach a tangle of plants and vines bursting out of the right-hand wall. The vines form their own ramp up through the underbrush. This leads up to a mostly intact upper level. On the wall at the far end is a loose brick you can interact with. Do so and head back down to the aforementioned dirt ramp.

Proceed forward over a bridge of vines, but turn around once you pass the first brick protrusion on the left-hand side. On this side of the protrusion is another loose brick. Interact with it and turn back around to proceed through the level—up a long, stone staircase covered in debris. Turn right at the top of the stairs and push forward till you reach a dead end marked by broken pillars. At the very end of the area, slightly hidden by overgrowth at the foot of one of the pillars, is yet another suspicious brick. Press it.

This opens a large, secret door to a chamber beneath the staircase you just walked up. Enter the chamber and look to the right-hand wall. Above eye level, on a large protruding brick, is the grimoire.

Tome #3

Very shortly after the second grimoire location, you’ll walk up a collapsed brick wall that’s formed a ramp over impassible vegetation. Right after passing jumping down from the ramp, hang right and hug the relatively clean brick wall. Walk forward a few paces to a rocky outcropping. You can hop the rocks, then jump to another ledge of rocks, where the final tome resides.

Screaming Bell

Grimoire #1

Once you reach Milizengrube, the street with burning houses to the right, look slightly to the left. There’s a small alcove between two buildings: the left of which is on fire, and the right of which is not. Hop up the milk crates leaned up in the alcove to reach an upper floor. Then turn around and hop from the burning debris on your left to another stack of crates on your right. You can hop forward using the horizontal wooden beams and bricks protruding from the wall to reach a couple of hanging platforms. Jump across these and proceed down the torchlit area. The grimoire is in a final stack of crates at the very end.

Tome #1

You’ll eventually need to walk through a multi-level inn with a lit brazier on the ground floor. Proceed up both sets of staircases to a plank balcony. Go all the way to the end of the balcony. Then look down and to your left. There’s another platform slightly around this corner that you can hop down to. Do so and look forward and to the left. There’s another wooden balcony, slightly harder to see around the corner this time. Hop over to it and collect the tome it contains.

Tome #2

Once you reach the abandoned marketplace district walk all the way to the far left-hand stall. Circle around to its opposite side, past a dead sapling, and you’ll see a short ladder leading to the top of the stall. You can jump forward from here to the lit hanging lantern. Jump forward again onto the next stall. Then jump forward from this to another lit lantern post. Jump forward one last time onto the tangle of stalls against the far wall. There’s a crate to the left which contains the second tome.

Grimoire #2

Continue through the level until you reach a large statue of a man holding a sword on a pedestal. Behind the statue is a wagon with a short ladder on one side. Climb it to reach the top of the wagon. Then hop down onto the wooden scaffolding built low on the side of the statue’s pedestal. Fall through the hole in the scaffolding to discover a secret tunnel. At the end of the tunnel is a chest with the grimoire inside.

Tome #3

Once you pass over some overturned wagons with a board forming a ramp, you’ll be in von Bisschenbesser Strasse. Head left up the district’s street until you reach a curve that takes you farther up and to the right. Keep to the right, but look to the wall of the building that marked the curve. You’ll see a tiny empty lot with wrapped containers, broken barrels, and a window overlooking the area you entered the district from. Hop up onto the windowsill and follow its ledge left-wise. You come up on a little alcove with stack of wooden boxes. The tome is in one of them.

Fort Brachenbrucke

Tome #1

Just after starting the mission, hop down to the first small ravine in the starting area, just before the wooden shack. Look let and follow the ravine downwards to the waterline. The tome is just behind the single bush at the edge before the water.

Tome #2

Proceed until you reach the road covered in overturned and burning wagons, just before a broken bridge that would have led to Fort Brachenbrucke. You can jump up and into the intact wagon closet to the missing bridge. Jump from it, to the burning wagon, to the next intact wagon, and from there to a mossy plateau. The tome is on this rocky area.

Grimoire #1

As you continue to follow the river, in the tree-filled area with a steep cliff to the left, follow the mossy ramp of rocks that lean up to the cliff’s top. From the far edge of the ramp you can jump to another mossy plateau, then back into a dip in the cliff’s face—marked by small, dark bushes. Hop down from here into the cave that leads deeper into the mountain. The grimoire is in an open tomb at the far end of the cave’s grassy path.

Grimoire #2

Once in the Old For Armoury (the sodden cave with occasional piles of skulls) proceed until you reach the hollow tower doubling as a support column. Walk behind the tower and look for its side surrounded by large barrels. Behind the barrels is a lever you can pull. Do so. Then head back to the front of the tower, where you can enter its hollow interior. The grimoire will now be inside a crate on the floor.

Tome #3

Shortly after the second grimoire, you’ll exit back into open air where you can see a thin waterfall in the distance. The path to your left take you up and to the rest of the level, but if you turn right you’ll see a second, shorter path. Go inside to retrieve the last tome.

Into the Nest

Tome #1

After entering Gorog Din, you’ll come out to a landing that shows a vast cavern filled with stone bridges in the distance. Right in front of said landing is a gap where the hand rail has broken. Hop down through it and follow the sloping ramp all the way downwards to a tower. The grimoire is right in front of the tower.

Grimoire #1

Eventually you’ll pass through a large doorway flanked by two burning braziers. Through the door is a crisscrossed staircase with a break in the hand rail similar to the one before. Go down the first set of stairs and look over the landings intact hand rail. There’s a long board leading to some scaffolding. Hop onto the board and follow it up to the scaffold platform (you need to crouch to get through). There’s another, almost identical plank leading to a rocky path. Follow it all the way to a small shrine, inside of which is the grimoire.

Grimoire #2

After pulling the lever that moves the massive, clockwork mill into the three waterfalls, head back to the floor where you would normally enter the newly created path under the falls. Instead of proceeding, though, turn left and head up the crisscrossing stairway into the adjacent building. Follow this path all the way to the area flanked by copper pipes. There will be a room with a ladder leading into a hole in the floor. Head down there and follow another ladder down into yet another, lower room. The grimoire is in a chest on your left.

Tome #2

To find the next tome, simply face away from the chest with the second grimoire and head down the path. You’ll reach a metal gate. Step through it. Directly in front of the gate, connected to a stone walkway overhead and some copper pipes, is a square structure. Walk around its lower ledge to find the tome in a broken box.

Tome #3

Kron Khaz is a flooded ruin overgrown with a bit of vegetation. When you enter it, you’ll hop down some scaffolding into the flooded area below. Walk straight forward all the way to the far end of the water. There’s a wooden ramp leading out of the water and back onto dry stone. Take the stairs to the ramp’s right. Follow the mine cart rail on the ground forward until you see the cart itself. The last tome is inside it.

Against the Grain

Tome #1

You find the first tome just after exiting the stables opposite the windmill near the first farmhouse you enter. Look left as you exit the stables. There’s a pile of hay you can climb up to stand atop the low fence that borders the estate. Walk across and hop onto its final post. This will get you high enough to jump onto the lean-to connected to the windmill. Once there, approach the decaying straw roof of the mill itself. You should be able to see (and grab) the tome through a hole in the thatch.

Grimoire #1

After dropping from a stone wall into an apple orchard, take the path towards the large barn where the first boss fight of this level usually occurs. Rather than approaching the barn, however, pull up to the smaller house to the right. Enter through its front door and grab the powder keg at the back of this main room. Then carry the keg through the closest door, down into the basement. You can place the barrel near the cracked, wooden wall in the far right corner. It will automatically explode to reveal a hidden path. Take it and find the grimoire on a barrel behind the house.

Grimoire #2

Now you can approach the barn. It’s also recommended that you open the barn doors first to fight the boss before further hobbling yourself with another grimoire. Once that’s done, turn to face away from the open doors. Next to an intact wagon is a ladder that leads up some scaffolding. Follow this path upwards, over another ladder, to the tip of a triangular roof. You can jump from this roof to a wooden platform hanging from a partially constructed tower. Hop to it, then to the tower itself, and follow the wooden path around the tower to the left. There grimoire is at the very end—past a few more jumps.

Tome #2

Now head into the barn as you normally would to progress the level. Instead of hopping down to the upper staircase platform, however, turn to face the barn doors you entered from. You can walk across the wooden platform and skirt your way into the upstairs windowsill. Look down and out into the area where you fought the boss. You should see the corner of a lower balcony, to the right of where you’re facing. Hop down onto it and pick up the tome that’s lying there.

Tome #3

Now you can finally exit the back of the barn, into the open, grassy field. Hug left as you cross through said field and into the flooded plains that follow it. You’ll come to a gap in the wooden fence to your left. Head through it and up the sloping ground to a small stream. The final tome is in a box that’s sunk to the bottom of the water. You can use the fallen tree as a ramp to exit the stream and return to the level, by the way.

Empire in Flames

Tome #1

Early in this level, you’ll need to proceed up the stairs of a burned building and make an irreversible jump into the charred building below. Once you’re in the streets, turn right and look for the large spike topped by a starburst of spears with a skull in the center. Turn right at the ominous symbol and head into the ruined foundation of a building. As far back as you can go, there’s a sort of slope of ash leading up to the next floor. It might take a couple tries, but you can jump from the pile of ash onto this floor and head into what’s left of the building. The tome is dead ahead, over a low wall and next to a chest.

Grimoire #1

Shortly after that first tome, you’ll find a set of stone stairs leading leftwards, flanked by a long banner and another of those skull spears. Instead of going up the stairs, head through the front door of the large building next to them. Once inside, hang a right through the structure’s only other door and look through the window facing directly in front of you. You should be able to see the grimoire next to a powder barrel through said window. Shoot the barrel with a projectile weapon so that it explodes. Once it does, head back out through the building’s front door and hang an immediate left. Circle around the building from this direction and you’ll find a newly opened hole near the ground that you can crouch through. Head inside the crawlspace to pick up the grimoire.

Tome #2

Continue through the level until you reach a flooded hallway lit by torches. Instead of taking the right-hand exit to the outside world, which progresses the level, walk an extra few paces to the far end of the waterlogged passage. On the right-hand wall, just past the usual exit is a hole in the masonry with a skeleton visible on the other side. By jumping up and down, you should be able to see (and pick up) the tome while in mid-air.

Grimoire #2

Continue through the level until you come up to a locked, metal gate flanked by a long green banner. You should be able to see a manor house in the distance to your right. While facing that direction, turn all the way left until you face an alleyway that ends in a wall of planks instead. Follow the alley around the corner to the right. You’ll come up to a wheelbarrow next to some stacked crates. Hop all the way up these, then jump to the lit torch post in front of the stack. If you turn left from here, you’ll see some beams and bricks protruding from the opposite building. Bunny hop across a couple of these and look up. The grimoire is on a particularly thick beam, just like the ones you just jumped across, above you.

Tome #3

During the escape sequence, when what’s left of the city is exploding around you, you’ll eventually have to head into a burning building with a ramp to its second floor—overlooking the tree-covered hill that marks the level’s exit. Don’t drop from this floor just yet, though. Instead you want to stand as close to the edge and as far to the left of this wall as possible. The idea is to jump out of the open landing, as if you were trying to exit the level, but turn around 180 degrees to your left in mid-air. This will let you enter another room in the building from the outside. Once inside, you can walk down a set of stairs to a candlelit basement. The final tome is behind the table where the candles rest.

Festering Grounds

Grimoire #1 Key

Very early in this level, before you even collect your first tome, you’ll need to grab a key to a later grimoire. It’s found shortly after you enter the first cave system with a rock ramp curving downwards. Proceed down and around the ramp, moving forward through the lower level, until you come to a support column holding up an overhead walking. There’s most of a skeleton on the other side of said column and near its outstretch arm is a key. Pick it up before proceeding.

Tome #1

As you push through the cave, you’ll come to a rickety suspension bridge that leads back outside. Just before crossing it, however, turn right. There’s a ladder leading to an upper floor. Follow the path past the ladder and turn left when you reach a balcony overlooking the suspension bridge. You can jump over the balcony’s broken hand rail to a floor on the other side, where the tome is found.

The jump is tricky, however, and will result in fall damage if you fail. Another, safer trick is to walk partway up the stone stairs that the suspension bridge leads you towards. There’s a finger-wide ledge on the wall halfway up the staircase. You can walk across it and try to hop directly around the corner and into the tome’s hiding place. It’s up to you.

Grimoire #1

Once you’re back in the open air again, it’s time to put that key you picked up earlier to use. After exiting the cave, you’ll proceed down a mix of mossy rock platforms and wooden walkways. Follow them all the way down, as you normally would in this level, until you reach the bottom. From here you could head left over the ledge overlooking the water. Before you do, however, turn right and head through the opening in the cliff wall—slightly obscured by ferns. There’s a ledge just below here with a chained up chest. Use the key to open it (no need to hop down to the chest’s level) and pick up the grimoire inside.

Tome #2

From the beginning of Buckhorn Gorge, proceed as normal until you’ve crossed the zone’s third wooden walkway. Unlike the others, this walkway isn’t a straight shot. It curves to the right-hand side while a mossy ledge would take you farther left and deeper into the level. Follow the twisted walkway all the way to its right-hand edge and look down. Below is another wooden bridge with the second tome inside a broken box.

Grimoire #2

Just after you pass the abandoned tents at the start of the Guard Outpost, you’ll need to head up a huge wooden ramp leading up a cliff to the next area. Once you reach the absolute top of the ramp, however, peek over its edge to the right. There’s a thin, mossy ledge immediately beneath your feet and connected to the cliff the ramp lets you scale. It’s tricky—not to mention dangerous—but you need to fall from the ramp and onto this ledge. Once you do, you can follow it down a path into a flooded little cave where the grimoire resides inside a chest.

Tome #3

Continue through the level and you’ll come across a wooden ramp that’s been used to hastily repair a set of broken stairs. Climb up to the top and you’ll get a notification saying you’re in the Old Chapel. Immediately in front of you, on the left-hand side, is a bit of ruined wall. Walk as near to the edge of this broken line as you can and jump to the place where they once connected. The tome is on this opposing platform, just under a lone tree.

The War Camp

Tome #1

Very near the beginning of the level, as you enter Old Andreas’ Den, you’ll come across an overgrown shack. The first tome is inside the shack on a bookshelf next to a bench.

Grimoire #1

Soon after the first tome, you’ll enter a swampy village called Froschdorf—both sides of which are connected by an overheard bridge. Just before the bridge is a building to your right-hand side, marked by a lit torch. Look just below the torch to see a pyramidal rock. Stand on it to jump up to a series of three charred posts, then jump across said posts to a wooden beam sticking towards you. Turn right while standing on the beam and you can jump inside the building through its broken roof. From here, fall down the hole in the floor to reveal the first grimoire.

Tome #2

Continue through the swamp until you pass through a lone door frame without any house around it. You’ll enter yet more swamp with a sunken house’s roof sticking out of the muck to your left. The tome is inside on a fallen beam.

Tome #3

During the “find the rotblood camp” objective, and just past an abandoned tent, you’ll have to walk over some wood plank walkways built into the swamp. Hop down from the first walkway and hug the right-hand side of the swamp a few paces. The tome is incredibly hard to miss, since it’s right out in the open on a small shrine sticking out of the mud.

Grimoire #2

This is by far the trickiest book to find in the level. Proceed with the mission until you climb a ramp that ends in a drop down into a large, open, and waterlogged area. Directly below as you hop down into the new zone is a squat, almost conical rock. Crouch down by its side to the right and you’ll see a tiny cubbyhole with a chalk symbol inside. Interact with the symbol. It will say “light candle,” but the candle isn’t always visible depending on the angle, so don’t worry if you don’t see anything ignite.

Wrap around this first rock and hug the cliff to your left (the one you just hopped down from a moment ago). You’ll come up to a wood ramp leading out of the water. Follow the ramp, but keep hugging the cliff face to the left. The ramp will eventually turn right, but just hop off the walkway back into the water and continue hugging that cliff. You’ll eventually pass a small dead tree. That’s your cue to scan the bottom of the left-hand cliff for a candle and another chalk marking. Ignite it.

Turn back towards the direction you came from, passing under the wooden walkway you stood on just a moment ago. Continue in this general direction until you reach the open, tree-less area. You’ll know you’re in the right place where you find a makeshift camp full of iron gibbets. At the far end of this camp is a long, low tent (seemingly made of skin). Go behind the tent where it intersects with a large boulder. The third chalk symbol is on the back of said boulder. Interact with it.

Now, from the skin-tent, start walking as if you were headed to the wooden platform near where we found the second candle. Halfway between the two landmarks, in a fairly dark and wooded area, is a stone altar with the grimoire on top.

Skittergate

Tome #1

The moment you start the mission, start walking forward. You’ll very quickly reach a crumbling building flanked with torches on this twisted path. Rather than head inside the building, however, circle around it from the right-hand side. You’ll need to jump a single gap, but the wooden path around the building will take you to the first tome.

Grimoire #1

After taking the elevator down to Under-Helmgart, hang a right towards the toppled stone tower. Going left, down the tilted tower, will proceed with the mission. Instead, go up and to the right you can hop up a few steps of debris and into a small, only slightly hidden path. Continue until you’re brought to the outside of the tower and you’ll see a curving, wooden balcony. Just follow it for a few more paces. The grimoire is right in plain sight from here.

Grimoire #2

Continue through the level until you reach a series of drops from one wooden platform to the next. From the top wooden platform, you’ll be able to see a series of massive chains covered in bells in the distance. Don’t drop down any of the platforms just yet. Instead, while facing the display of chains, look up and to your left. There’s an intact crate on a small wooden platform hanging from a crane in that direction. Use a projectile weapon to shoot the rope holding the platform up. That will cause it to fall all the way to the bottom of where you need to go, so now you can start making your way down the platforms. Once you’re at the bottom, you’ll see the aforementioned crate right up against the cliff face you just hopped down, and inside is the grimoire.

Tome #2

During the “reach the southern gate” objective, you’ll come out of a tight cave and into a snowy area before some water. Look out on the water, where some icebergs are visible to the right. Between the cliff and the nearest iceberg is an ice shelf that you can hop and walk across. Follow it all the way to another berg that you can actually jump to. Now it’s a matter of hopping from one icy platform to the next, making a sort of U-turn back in the direction you came from. Tome #2 is by a frozen Skaven corpse on the last platform.

Tome #3

After you fight the boss in the Norscan arena, proceed through the exit and follow the path upwards, deeper into the encampment. The gently sloping road will eventually curve sharply left. Keep to this left-hand path and continue hugging its leftmost side. You’ll eventually reach a gap in its wooden wall of sharpened spikes—filled in very slightly by a stack of snow-topped crates. Hop over the crates into a semi-secret path. Take the first right after hopping down a short cliff and you’ll find a chest next to another frozen Skaven. Inside this chest is the very last tome in Vermintide 2.
